Franklin Gibbs - Special Counsel, Retired

Franklin "Gene" Gibbs has retired and is no longer practicing with the firm. However, his contributions were many fold. Witten Ltd. was honored to have worked with Mr. Gibbs. For more than a decade, he was Special Counsel to Witten Ltd. on matters concerning Intellectual Property prosecution and litigation, and together we enjoyed great success.

Mr. Gibbs had a physics and engineering background including fourteen years of management and engineering experience at Hughes Aircraft Company. As an attorney, he was lead counsel on numerous complex patent infringement and copyright actions. He advised on aerospace technology rights to NASA, litigated core issues regarding technology related to the backbone of the internet and mobile phones, and prepared opinions on the enforcement and monetization of patent portfolios for private companies in various industries.

Perhaps greater than these fine achievements, however, Gene was a  trusted counselor and friend. We will miss him professionally, look forward to seeing him in his free time, and wish him all the best in his retirement.
